Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress, best famous for her role in film for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is a producer as well as an actress on stage, in theatre and television. She began her acting career in the theater before appearing in numerous television series as well as mainstream and independent films. Her biggest success came as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's acclaimed series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she was praised by critics and received numerous nominations and awards including The Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her first professional performance was in the role of Ariel In The Tempest. Stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. Her film career began in the late 1990s. she is best known for her role in movies like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her role as a regular in ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
