Adele

Adkins was raised by a young single mother in various working-class areas of London. When she was a kid she was fond of singing contemporary pop songs and also learning how to play the guitar and the clarinet. She discovered Etta, a mid-century rhythm-and blues performer, during her teens, and started to pursue a career a musician. As she worked on her skills at a government-funded secondary school for the performing arts, an acquaintance began uploading songs Adkins wrote and recorded onto the social networking site Myspace. Following her graduation Adkins' music attracted the attention of record label. She signed a deal in the year 2006 with XL Recordings.
